Michael Baulch would have turned 16 the day his nude, decomposing body, wrapped in plastic was excavated from a shallow grave in a secluded wooded area near Lake Sam Rayburn in the heart of the East Texas Piney woods on August 8, 1973. His body would remain in the county morgue for the next 35 years as a John Doe.
Because the chief medical examiner had identified a different body as Michael Baulch and that body was buried with Michael's 17 year old brother, Billy, in a single unmarked grave. All three boys - and 25 others - were victims of the worst serial killings in Texas history-The Houston Mass Murders.

Dean Corll and his teenage accomplices, Elmer Wayne Henley, Jr., and David Owen Brooks were responsible for the abduction, rape, torture and murder of 28 boys and young men between 1970 and 1973.
